Rules and Regulations Summary

This is a summary of South Cove's Rules and Regulations.  The full version can be found on our Official Documents page.

General

  • Dogs must be on a leash or under control of owner at all times in accordance with the ordinances of King County.
  • Please pick up after your pets.
  • Shrubs, trees and other landscaping should be trimmed so that they do not extend out over or hang over the sidewalk or other common area.
  • Cars parked on sidewalks will be towed.
  • Garbage containers must be stored out of sight or to the side of houses, except on garbage collection day

Park

  • No motorbikes of any type are allowed in the park.
  • No golfing.
  • No bows and arrows.
  • No fireworks of any kind allowed.
  • Picnic garbage should be put in trash containers.
  • Respect property of owners adjacent to park.
  • Park and beach hours are from 7:00 A.M. until dusk.
  • Caution should be used with playground equipment.
  • Children should be watched while using playground equipment

Beach

  • No lifeguard is on duty.
  • Swim at your own risk
  • Guests must be accompanied by a SCHA member.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • No glass containers allowed.
  • No loud music.
  • Animals not allowed on the beach.
  • No running on float.
  • No pushing on or from float.
  • No swimming under float.
  • Do not pass beyond the beach fence.
  • Stay off neighboring (private) beaches and docks

Motor Boats and Jet Skis

  • Buoys have been placed 280 feet from the beach by the King County Sheriff's Office Marine Division. Motor boats not launched from the beach are prohibited inside this area.
  • Motor boats that are launched from the beach should always turn off motors and paddle in when inside these buoys.

We discourage the use of Jet Skis around our swim area but for those who launch from the beach. Please go as slowly as possible whenever you are inside the buoys.

ALWAYS OPERATE YOUR CRAFT WITH EXTREME CAUTION AND COURTESY TO ALL SWIMMERS AND NEIGHBORING HOMEOWNERS. VIOLATIONS OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN THE CLOSING OF OUR BEACH AREA TO ANY TYPE OF MOTOR CRAFT.

Tennis Courts

  • Tennis courts are for the exclusive use of South Cove members and their guests only.
  • Maximum of one hour of play when others are waiting
  • Adults have priority for tennis court use on Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and after 5:30 P.M. on weekdays.
  • Courts are to be used for tennis play only. The surface is specially treated and can be damaged by bikes, skateboards, roller blades, toys, etc.
  • Only court shoes are to be worn. Street shoes or black soled shoes can damage the court surface.
  • Animals are to be kept outside of the fenced court area.
