SOUTH COVE LAWSUIT SETTLED

The South Cove Homeowners Association and Jeff and Sonja Biesold are pleased to announce that a settlement has been reached in their litigation over roofing materials.  In connection with this settlement, the Biesolds will be donating money for the purchase of playground equipment for the community playground.  Both the Biesolds and the Association feel that this settlement is in the best interests of the community.  We hope that it will serve to heighten awareness within the community and the association of the importance of the architectural review requirements and their application and, therefore, reduce the likelihood for future misunderstandings and disputes.

NEW MAILBOXES FOR SOUTH COVE  RESIDENTS

As you've no doubt noticed, some of our mailboxes got knocked over last year, and some of the others are in bad shape.  The board has repaired the worst of the mailbox stands, while simultaneously providing new, matching black mailboxes.  The old mismatched and rusting mailboxes have been returned to the homeowners.  As mailbox stand repairs continue over time, all of the mailboxes in the neighborhood will eventually be replaced with matching black mailboxes to be owned and maintained by the homeowners association. Matching house numbers on the mailboxes will be applied.

DRINK WATER FOR HEALTH

The single most important nutrient we put into our bodies is WATER!  Our bodies are made up of 55 to 65% water.  The body can survive prolonged periods without food, but a significant decrease in body water can lead to illness and death.  Drinking to satisfy thirst is not enough.  We can feel full long before our bodily fluids are replenished.  We need to drink 8 to 10 eight-ounce glasses of water and other fluids per day to satisfy our need for water.

IT TAKES 20 DAYS TO CHANGE A HABIT!

HELPFUL CLEANING HINTS:

CLEAN JEWELRY:  Use club soda to clean your diamonds and other gemstone jewelry.  Just soak the pieces in the fizzy liquid for a couple of minutes and they are clean.  Alka Seltzer and Efferdent tablets work well, too.

MOISTURIZING FACIALS:  Take oatmeal; even the instant packets will suffice.  Mix it with honey and a little warm water if you want.  Smooth it over your face, avoiding the eye area.  Sit back and rest for ten minutes, then rinse with warm water.

OLD NAIL POLISH: Don’t throw out that gunky old nail polish.  Here’s another way you can put it to good use:  as sealing wax for your cards and letters!

19 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS WE CAN ALL KEEP

1.                  I will do something every day that makes me laugh out loud.

2.                  I will encourage myself to make more mistakes.

3.                  I will remind myself that there are no mistakes—only opportunities for growth.

4.                  I will make up creative excuses to exercise.

5.                  I will take more risks.

6.                  I will worry about only one thing at a time, if I worry at all.

7.                  I will eat right 90% of the time.

8.                  I will send out more thank-you cards.

9.                  I will read the comics.

10.              I will not agree to do things simply because someone asks me to.

11.              I will take a walk or get some other exercise whenever I feel stressed.

12.              I will get as much sleep as I need to be happy, healthy, and fun to be around.

13.              I will focus on what went right every day, instead of what went wrong.

14.              I will spend at least two nights a week without the TV on.

15.              I will find at least five new, really healthy foods that I actually enjoy – and eat them.

16.              I will ask myself, “Will this thing really matter in 100 years?”

17.              I will walk to more places – like to the store, to a friend’s, to the post office.

18.              I will go outside and play at least once a week.

19.              I will be thankful for everything.
