2007 Board Priorities: Thank-you to everyone who responded to the survey on 2007 priorities! There were 102 people who responded! Many of the survey selections and written comments included maintenance issues that were deferred in the past for budget reasons. Other issues may be addressed by communicating with our neighbors and working together to make our community better for everyone. Based on your selections and written comments, the Board will work on the following issues that appear to be our community’s top priorities: § Community Clean Up Day – Repeat last year's (2006) event by bringing in a dumpster for yard waste disposal. (complete!) § Floating Dock – Replace decking on the floating dock at the beach. (complete!) § Tennis Courts – Repair broken lock and repair springs on both gates. (complete!) § Park Maintenance & Upgrades – Trench tree roots; soil aeration; replace trees damaged in the Nov-06 windstorm; back-fill holes in the park lawn; slice seeding; new picnic table; springy toy replacement; new bark mulch for park entrances, tennis court area and along 188th St. (in progress) § Beach Patrol – Develop a proactive plan to prevent trespassing, especially during early summer. The board's research includes community patrol, lighting, and/or hiring a security service during peak usage times. (complete!) § South Cove Entrance Lighting – Research lighting options that make it easier to see our main entrances at night. (pending) § Community Social Events – Easter, July 4th, Summer Concert in the Park (complete!) Of course, the Board will also continue its regular duties, including maintaining the park, hosting community events, providing architectural reviews, issuing newsletters, interfacing with government bodies, helping with individual homeowner concerns, etc. We appreciate your input and welcome any assistance to help achieve the 2007 goals! |
