February 2008 Board Meeting – Minutes
Call to order – 7:07 P.M.
Treasurers Report
· Agreement on reporting financial updates one month delayed due to early month board meeting schedule. All present agreed.
·
Escrow update that there is a house
sale in process, report on sale at the next monthly meeting.
·
Additional dues have come in since
February meeting. Late notices have been sent out to those who have not yet
returned their dues.
Architecture Control Committee
· Mark Gregg needs to remove his silver trailer from the driveway as there have been numerous complaints from neighbors.
·
Brian Boland will follow up if not
removed.
Welcome Committee
· 2 new families will be receiving welcome kits from Shelby.
·
Will also take care of the sale
notified via escrow.
Communications
· Brian Goble completed a major update of the website including the names of board members, contact info, etc
·
We need more people to sign up for
email on the site
·
Suggestions were offered to have a
newsletter prior to Easter. Ryan volunteered to drive and is looking to try to
use Windsor’s newsletter template.
·
Release date for newsletter is
targeted for one week prior to Easter event
·
Request that everyone on the board
submits an article for the newsletter so that everyone is participating in the
work on the letter. All agreed.
·
The goals is to proof and finalize
the newsletter at the next board meeting
SLSA Update
· Brian Goble is in touch with the SLSA group – there is no January meeting, February is upcoming
· The issue of tree preservation is expected to come up at the next meeting
Mailboxes and Landscape
· Need to put mailbox information on the website. Keys can be made at Lowes. Model numbers are on the website on the Lockboxes page.
· Meeting with Signature in late Feb to do a walkthrough
· We see a need to mulch on 188th – investigating drive by mulching
· Trees at the entrances may need to be trimmed
· Tree roots are starting to lift the paths in the park and may need to be addresses
Rules Committee
· We should add a rule that states “Once you have an ACC approved form, you have to start the project within xx days”. This would avoid people receiving the approval and not starting a project.
Beach and Tennis
· No update
Events
· Easter planning kickoff started, will update at next meeting
Additional Items
Investigating the feasibility, costs, logistics of putting a potty in the park for summer
Is a controversial issue and will need to be viewed carefully
We need to evaluate the amount of tables and benches in the park – we may need more
Top Priorities for 2008
· Neighborhood beautification
· Redoing the picnic area
· Disaster preparedness / neighborhood watch
