SOUTH COVE BOARD MINUTES

August 24, 2006

At the home of Randy Uyeno

 

 

Board Members Present  Don Meyer, Sam Rosenbalm, Chad Hardisty, Windsor Lewis , Randy Uyeno and new guest Stuart Johnson.

 

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by Chad Hardisty.

 

Minutes   Don read the July 2006 minutes and they were approved as read.

 

Julie McDaniel resigned her Board position via e-mail. The Board thanks Julie for the services she provided.

 

Stuart Johnson attended this meeting with the intention of joining the Board. The Board voted unanimously to accept Stuart as a Board member until the end of the year when he can be voted in at the November meeting for a regular term.

 

Treasurer’s Report 

Windsor reported an account balance of $47,951.22 (combination of savings & checking accounts).

 

Windsor reported five homeowners with delinquent dues. One homeowner responded to the delinquent dues notices.

 

Windsor has identified two auditors whom she will interview to perform our year-end audit.

 

Architectural Control Committee  

Don reported that two ACCR's had been submitted and approved.

 

Don reported on the fence violation at the home of Steve Serex. The Board discussed the violation and voted to mail by certified letter the Serex's a notice of violation. This is the first step in a warning process before penalties are attached. The vote was five in favor and one opposed.

 

Windsor recommended we add verbiage to the Covenant defining the exact time limit of an approved ACCR request. We will attempt to add it by the November Annual meeting.

 

Windsor reported on the home with the incomplete siding project and said the homeowner agreed to a completion date of September 30th.

 

Park / Landscaping  

Rod will follow up with Signature Landscaping about our fall park program.

Beach Issues

Security Light at the Beach - Don provided estimates from an electrician and a welder for the security light and light pole. The Board approved up to $2,500.00 for this project.

 

Floating dock deck replacement - The Board decided to eliminate this project from the 2006 agenda.

 

Tennis Courts

The locks have been repaired. Windsor mentioned she will need the keys back and any petty cash involved with the purchase of keys. Chad volunteered to take over this duty.

 

Rules Committee

It was recommended that the Covenant should include verbiage stating that the homeowner is responsible for notifying the HOA whenever they plan on moving from the area.

 

SLSA

Since the annexation to Issaquah we have seen more Issaquah police patrols. This is a welcome site, especially since there has been an increase in car prowls.

 

Yellow lines on the street - The city inadvertently repainted these lines. They apologized for the error and will allow them to fade away in the future.

 

Mobile speed signs - There is a waiting lists of areas that have requested these and we will be notified when one is available.

 

New Business

Don Meyer, Randy Uyeno and Rod Putney will be leaving the Board at the end of 2006.
