SOUTH COVE BOARD MINUTES
April 20th, 2006

Board Members Present Chad Hardisty, Windsor Lewis-Gloy, Randy Uyeno, Julie McDaniel, and Sam Rosenbalm
Meeting called to order at 7:15 PM by Chad Hardisty.
Minutes The March 2006 minutes were approved as listed on the Web.
Treasurer’s Report
Windsor reported an account balance of $67,685.12. (Combination of savings & checking accounts)
96% of the homeowner dues for 2005 have been collected.
Windsor confirmed Washington State law requiring all homeowners associations with annual revenues equal to or greater than $50k to perform annual independent audits. Based on this information, Windsor will be seeking an independent audit of our financial records this year.
2006 Priorities

The following items will be researched for inclusion if time / money allows in 2006 or moved to the 2007 board priority list:
Results of the two Yes / No survey questions:
1) The issue of whether or not fences should be allowed on the park.
a. 67.5% said “NO NEW FENCES”
2) If fences are allowed on the park, what restrictions will govern these installations?
a. 93.2% indicated “Harmony of Design” as the highest governing value
b. 72.3% indicated “Height”
c. 62.8% indicated “Material”
Spring Cleaning and Community Pride – Chad Hardisty reporting
The weekend of May 6th and 7th, the 1st Saturday / Sunday in May from 8AM to 4PM have been designated as our official Community Pride day. Chad Hardisty is lining up the dumpster and Rod Putney is organizing the event.
Communication – Randy Uyeno reporting
The first newsletter will go out in the next couple of weeks. Material for the July newsletter is due by June 1st.
Architectural Control Committee - Sam Rosenbalm reporting
Three ACC requests were submitted and approved.
Park / Landscaping
Nothing to Report.
Discussion ensued about the two large cottonwood trees near the tennis courts and what can be done to ensure they do not damage the newly laid paths and our tennis courts. Additional research will be done to determine the various options.
Beach
Nothing to Report.
Tennis Courts – Julie McDaniel reporting
The tennis courts will be cleaned sometime after May 1st. One bid was received which was too high, another bid is outstanding.
A locksmith has also been contacted to repair the damaged gate locks.
Mailbox

The Easter event was a huge success. Thank you to Julie McDaniel and all the volunteers!
The next event coming up is the July 4th parade and party in the park! Details to be in the July newsletter and posted on the website.

Gov’t Affairs / SLSA – Chad Hardisty reporting
Meeting held on April 5th, 2006 at the Library Service Center in Issaquah. 9 members were present.
Census results for the newly annexed area:
1,565 residences with 2/3 single family residences and 1/3 multiple family.
Estimated 3,720 citizens
